Wider Opportunities teacher

This is a fantastic resource that engages the student and fully supports the teacher. Learning is fun.”
Alex Hodgson - Head of Arts Support Service, Nottinghamshire Arts Support Service

“A very interactive experience for both pupils and teachers. Lots of engaging, informative resources for learning and playing music as well as having fun with games and videos.
Sarah Ng - Wider Opportunities Co-ordinator, Arts Support Service

Nottinghamshire  Arts Support Service Interactive contains a growing number of highly targeted interactive resources that support Wider Opportunities programs in schools.

Once you’ve logged in, take a look at the Wider Opportunities section via the Nottinghamshire  Arts Support Service Interactive button (first link, top right hand side). Our approach has been to provide resources for interactive whiteboard and projector that match what you’re doing on the ground. These interactive resources free you up to provide more hands on help to individual children and also help to engage and stimulate children (and you!) on a whole new level in new and exciting ways.

Practicalities are always important and because all the resources from the website can be downloaded and taken into school on a memory stick it will save you time and effort. If you don’t have access to the equipment it’s worth asking whether it can be made available. Often it just takes a bit of advance planning.

In situations where you can’t use the resources due to a lack of equipment, at least your supporting classroom teacher could use them between sessions to reinforce learning. Over the coming weeks we will be adding a series of 10-minute everyday activities that class teachers can use with children throughout the week. These 10-minute sessions will usually be in the classroom where there is an interactive whiteboard available.
